Mobile Service

Mobile Mechanical Repairs, Done Where You Park

Starters, alternators, belts, cooling, suspension and steering, repaired at your home or job site. The van carries the tools and the parts.

What we do

What the job covers

Most of what stops a car is bolted to the outside of the engine. Starters, alternators, belts, tensioners, water pumps, thermostats, hoses. None of it needs a lift and none of it needs a shop, and all of it strands you at exactly the moment a shop is hardest to get to.

We carry the tools and the common failure parts to your driveway, your office lot or the job site. Same diagnosis, same torque specs, same road test at the end. The difference is that your morning stays yours.

  • Starters and charging

Starter, alternator, battery cables and grounds. We test the whole charging path before replacing anything in it.

  • Belts, tensioners and pulleys

Serpentine belt replacement, plus the tensioner and idler pulleys that make a new belt squeal within a week if they are left alone.

  • Cooling system

Water pumps, thermostats, radiator hoses and coolant service. Florida traffic finds a marginal cooling system faster than any other state.

  • Suspension and steering

Struts, shocks, control arm bushings, ball joints, sway bar links, tie rods and wheel bearings.

  • General maintenance

Oil and filter service, spark plugs, air and cabin filters, and fluid checks while the vehicle is already open.

  • Pre-purchase inspection

We meet you at the seller and go through the car before money changes hands. Leaks, rust, tire wear, stored fault codes and a road test.

In your words

What people tell us before we arrive

  • It clicks once when I turn the key and then nothing happens

  • There's a squeal from the engine for the first minute after a cold start

  • The temperature gauge climbs when I'm sitting in traffic and drops when I move

  • It clunks over every bump and the front end feels loose

  • There's a puddle under the front of the car where I park

  • The battery light flickers on and off while I'm driving

Any of these and we can tell you what it is before we touch a wheel. Send us the symptom and we will bring the parts.

Setting it straight

Not every charging fault is the alternator

A battery light or a dead morning start sends a lot of alternators to the scrap bin while the real fault stays on the car. A battery with a weak cell drags the alternator to full field output every time you drive, and that heat is what kills the diodes, so the new alternator fails the same way the old one did. Corroded ground straps do the same thing from the other end, and so does a chafed charging cable rubbing on a bracket. We load test the battery, measure the drop across every cable in the charging path and check the grounds before anything comes off. Sometimes the answer is a twelve dollar ground strap. We would rather tell you that than sell you an alternator.

The visit

How an on-site repair runs

  1. Describe the car and the fault

Year, make, model and what it does, plus when it does it. Cold start, hot traffic and after a rain all point at different parts, and knowing which one lets us load the van before we leave.

  2. We diagnose on site, then quote

We test in your driveway with the same scan tools and meters a dealer uses. You get the reading, the cause and the price before we touch a fastener. The estimate is free.

  3. We repair and road test

Torque to specification, fluids topped and checked, and a road test to confirm the noise or the leak is gone before we pack up.

We test the part before we sell you the part

A starter gets a voltage drop test across the cable and the ground before it comes off. An alternator gets a charging and ripple test with the engine running. A tensioner gets checked for play with the belt off. Parts that pass stay on the car. That sounds obvious, and it is the step that gets skipped when a shop is paid by the job rather than by the answer. On suspension we go the other way and tell you what can wait: a leaking strut and a torn sway bar link both fail an inspection, and only one of them changes how the car drives this month.

The car that needs this work often cannot be driven to a shop

A failed starter, a snapped belt or a water pump dumping coolant on your driveway all end the same way at a shop: a tow bill on top of the repair. We drive to the car instead. The van carries the jack stands, the scan tools and the common failure parts for the vehicles we see most in Pinellas County, so a no-start is usually one visit rather than a tow, a wait and a pickup.

The other half of it is the faults that only exist in your driveway. A clunk on the first speed bump out of your street, a squeal that lasts sixty seconds after a cold start. Drive that car twenty minutes to a shop and both conditions are gone by the time a technician looks at it.

  • A no-start gets diagnosed where it sits instead of on a flatbed
  • Cold-start noises are still happening when we arrive
  • You keep working while the car gets fixed in the lot outside

Questions

Before you book

What mechanical work can't be done in a driveway?

Anything that needs the car in the air on a lift for a long stretch, machining, or a controlled environment. Internal engine work, transmission rebuilds and exhaust welding go to a shop. We tell you that on the phone rather than after we arrive.

Do you supply the parts?

Yes. We source parts that meet or exceed the factory specification, and we confirm what we are fitting with you before we order. If you have already bought a part, tell us the brand and we will say whether we are willing to fit it.

How much room do you need to work?

A level surface, a car length of clearance and room to swing a door open. A driveway, an office parking lot or a numbered space in an open apartment lot all work. Grass, gravel and a sloped street do not, because jack stands need something solid and flat.

Where we work

Mechanical work across a fleet

A van with a squealing belt still runs, right up until the tensioner lets go and takes the water pump with it. We work through a fleet on site and catch the wear items while the vehicle is between jobs instead of on the side of Ulmerton Road.
